Scope

PVSmile operates a public website that visitors can browse without creating an account. PVSmile also offers optional electronic communications (newsletters and press releases) for people who choose to subscribe.

No website accounts

PVSmile does not provide user registration or user accounts on the website. The only subscription offered is to PVSmile electronic communications.

PVSmile uses Microsoft Clarity to better understand how visitors interact with the website and to improve its usability and content. Clarity provides insights such as aggregated usage statistics and interaction patterns (for example, navigation behavior and page engagement).

Where required by law, Clarity is enabled only after you consent to analytics cookies through the cookie banner.

YouTube embeds

Some pages on the PVSmile website may include embedded YouTube videos. When a page containing a YouTube embed is loaded, your browser may connect to YouTube/Google services and these services may collect information or set cookies according to their own policies. The PVSmile website may include links to third-party websites related to research, climate, energy, and the environment. PVSmile is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites.

Electronic Communications (Newsletters and Press Releases)

What we collect and why

If you choose to subscribe to PVSmile communications, PVSmile collects and processes your email address in order to send you newsletters and press releases.

Subscription (single opt-in)

By filling out and submitting the newsletter subscription form, you consent to the processing of your email address for the purpose of receiving PVSmile communications. After submitting your email address, you may start receiving PVSmile newsletters and press releases.

Service providers and recipients

PVSmile uses MailerLite as a service provider to manage subscriptions and send newsletters and press releases on our behalf. Subscriber email addresses may also be processed operationally by EPU (the dissemination leader) for the purpose of dissemination activities related to PVSmile communications.

PVSmile does not sell or provide subscriber email addresses to third parties for marketing purposes.

Retention

PVSmile retains subscriber email addresses until the subscriber unsubscribes.

Unsubscribe

Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time by:

• Clicking the unsubscribe link included at the bottom of each newsletter/press release, or
• Sending an email to info@pvsmile.eu with the subject line “UNSUBSCRIBE”.

Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from communications).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA).
